Immune Support

Boost Your Immune System

Here and some things to do at the first sign of a sore throat, cold, or flu.

  1. Drink a large glass of room temperature water with lemon, ACV and honey.

  2. Gargle with a sea salt and warm filtered water up to three times a day if you have a sore throat.

  3. Hydration is critical to supporting your immune system. Drink 32 oz of water per day and add Celtic sea salt or electrolytes.

  4. Eat plant-based whole foods containing vitamin C, such as lemons, limes, berries, and grapefruits, are brilliant sources of vitamin C.

  5. Add antiviral foods such as garlic, onions, ginger and turmeric to boost the immune system by enhancing the activity of white blood cells and improving resistance to infection.

  6. Make a bone broth or organic vegetable soup with lots of vegetables and boil for at least 6 hours – drink this soup at least once daily. Add raw garlic, grated raw ginger, sauerkraut, cayenne pepper and green pumpkin seeds to this soup as a garnish.

  7. Take an Epsom salt bath or a foot bath each day and soak for at least 30 minutes.

  8. Reduce inflammation and stay off sugar, dairy, gluten, and alcohol. Increase all warm foods, liquids, and soups and add rye, spelt, quinoa, or gluten-free bread if you really feel like you need the comfort of carbohydrates. Always choose organic butter or olive oil; never margarine. Life is about balance, so choose healthy foods during the week and keep alcohol, sugar, and other inflammatory-rich foods for the weekend.

Stay healthy this winter!

Hugs,

Whitney
